Never miss a call because your phone was silent

Ring Reminder watches your ringer in the background and instantly alerts you when it's muted, vibrate-only, on Do Not Disturb, or too quiet to hear.

Always watching, never intrusive

Ring Reminder runs quietly in the background. You only hear from it when something needs your attention.

1

Runs silently in background

A lightweight foreground service monitors your ringer mode every 30 seconds. It uses virtually no battery and stays running even when the screen is off.

2

Detects a problem

The moment your phone goes silent, vibrate-only, Do Not Disturb, or below your volume threshold — Ring Reminder notices immediately.

3

Shows a floating alert

A small coloured badge appears on your screen. Tap it to expand — you can unmute instantly without leaving whatever you're doing.

4

You stay in control

Snooze the alert, schedule unmute for later, or just dismiss it. Ring Reminder works with you, not against you.

Everything you need, nothing you don't

Thoughtfully built features that solve the real problem — missed calls — without bloat.

Floating overlay badge

A small badge sits over any app showing your current ringer state. Tap to expand for full controls — unmute, snooze, schedule — without switching apps.

Four alert triggers

Choose which conditions to watch: Silent mode, Vibrate-only, Do Not Disturb, and Low ringer volume (configurable threshold). Enable just the ones that matter to you.

Snooze alerts

Heading into a meeting? Snooze for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour, or until you manually change your ringer. Alerts resume automatically when the snooze ends.

Scheduled unmute

Tap "Unmute in…" from the overlay to schedule your phone to unmute automatically — in 30 minutes, an hour, or any custom time. A notification lets you cancel if plans change.

Re-alert if still muted

Enable repeat nudges so Ring Reminder reminds you again after 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes if your phone is still in the wrong state — no more forgetting to re-enable it.

Home screen widget

Add a small 1×1 or wide 2×1 widget to your home screen. It shows your ringer status at a glance and — when an alert is active — taps straight through to expand the overlay.

Quick Settings tile

A Quick Settings tile in your notification shade shows current status and lets you jump straight into the app — handy when you need a quick check without unlocking.

Haptic feedback

Optional short vibration pulse confirms the moment you unmute — a satisfying tactile confirmation that your ringer is back on.

Free to use. Pro for power users.

We only ask for what we need

Ring Reminder is upfront about every permission it requests and why. Your data never leaves your device.

Show notifications

Required to display the persistent monitoring notification and alert heads-up notifications. The persistent notification is kept at minimum priority so it doesn't interrupt you.

Draw over other apps

Allows Ring Reminder to show the floating overlay badge on top of any app. Without this, the alert can only appear as a standard notification. Your screen content is never read or captured.

Do Not Disturb access

Lets Ring Reminder detect when DND is active and turn it off when you tap "Unmute". Without this, it can alert you about DND but cannot automatically disable it for you.

Battery optimisation exempt

Prevents Android from suspending the monitoring service when your phone is idle. Without this, the service can be killed by the system after a few minutes of screen-off time.

Notification access (optional — Pro)

Used only to detect incoming calls so the overlay badge can pulse when a call arrives while your phone is muted. Ring Reminder never reads the content of your notifications.

App usage access (optional — Pro)

Used only for the per-app suppression feature — to detect which app is in the foreground so alerts can be paused while you're using selected apps. No browsing history or personal data is accessed.

Common questions

Will Ring Reminder drain my battery?
Ring Reminder checks your ringer state every 30 seconds. This is a very lightweight operation — it reads a single system value and does nothing if nothing has changed. In practice, battery impact is negligible. Battery saver mode (Pro) reduces this to every 120 seconds when your battery drops below 20%.
Does it work when my screen is off?
Yes. Ring Reminder runs as a foreground service, which Android keeps alive in the background. We recommend granting the battery optimisation exemption during setup — this prevents the system from suspending the service when the phone has been idle for a while.
Why does it need to draw over other apps?
The floating overlay badge is Ring Reminder's main interface. It sits on top of whatever you're doing so you can see and fix your ringer state without switching apps. If you prefer not to grant this permission, alerts will still appear as standard notifications — you just won't get the floating badge.
Can I set it to only alert during certain hours?
Yes — the Alert Schedule feature (Pro) lets you define a window of hours during which alerts are active. Outside those hours, Ring Reminder continues monitoring in the background but won't show alerts or notifications.
What's the difference between the Free and Pro versions?
Free covers the essentials: all four alert triggers, the floating badge, snooze, repeat nudge, haptic feedback, widget, and QS tile. Pro adds scheduling, scheduled unmute, daily auto-unmute, per-app suppression, 8 overlay themes, lock screen alerts, battery saver, and the pulse-on-call feature. Every install gets a 7-day free trial of Pro.
Is the Pro upgrade a subscription?
No — it's a one-time purchase. Pay once, own it forever. There are no recurring charges.
I bought Pro on another device — how do I restore it?
Open the app, go to Settings → Ring Reminder Pro, and tap the Restore button. This re-queries your Google Play purchase history and restores Pro access if your purchase is found on your account.
Will the service restart after I update the app?
Yes. Ring Reminder automatically restarts its monitoring service after an app update is installed, as long as you had it enabled. You don't need to do anything.
Does Ring Reminder read my notifications or calls?
No. Ring Reminder only checks the ringer mode state — a single system value. The optional notification access permission (for pulse-on-call) only detects that a call-category notification arrived; it never reads the caller's name, number, or any notification content. The optional app usage permission only reads which app is in the foreground; it never tracks browsing history or personal activity.
